ENVIRONMENTAL REMEDIATION has a timeline problem
Assessment, planning, execution — each phase compounds the last,
and depending on the technology behind the remediation plan and
application process, site closure can stretch from months into years.
George “Bud” Ivey has spent the better part of four decades shrinking
that window. The founder of Canada-based IVEY International Inc.
has built a company around chemical technologies designed to pull
contaminants out of soil, bedrock, and groundwater — and that work
has expanded fro petroleum hydrocarbons and chlorinated solvent to
include PFAS, the “forever chemicals” now drawing regulatory scrutiny
across Canada and internationally.

“PFAS — polyfluoride compounds — are not new,” Ivey explains. “The
issue has been around for a while, but increasingly, the topic is getting
concern from people; it’s getting regulatory attention, and an increasing
degree of enforcement.”
