Buffalo Plains Wind Farm
THE BUFFALO PLAINS WIND FARM is the largest single-phase wind
farm in Canada, with 83 wind turbines just west of Lomond, Alberta. The
昀椀rst turbine on Bu昀昀alo Plains was installed in April 2024 and more than
a third of the wind turbines are currently installed.
Once fully operational, the wind farm will provide a total capacity of 495
MW, providing clean energy to approximately 240,000 households. The
$700 million project is being delivered in collaboration with Siemens
Gamesa and Borea Construction.
